Andy Flitter spends most of his time treasure hunting. Whether it’s for his shop, The Shed @ Cooroy or Hinter Auctions, he likes nothing better than searching through houses, sheds and shops for bygone treasures that are just sitting there, waiting to be re-discovered.
It’s 25 years since Andy, along with wife Nova, started their first antique centre in the UK before selling up and emigrating to Cooroy 20 years ago. After 5 great years globetrotting for a local Noosaville gift company, Andy returned to his 1st love of sourcing and selling treasure when he started up The Tender Shed in Doonan in 2005. In 2006 they introduced Friday Night Auctions where they sold an eclectic range of goods for local vendors before selling the business to partners in 2008.
In the following years, Andy & Nova returned regularly to the UK where Andy spent most of his time visiting local auction houses, buying antiques and vintage furniture and shipping it back to Australia where he sold it to local dealers and through auctions in Brisbane.
In the last 3 years, Andy and Nova have started and run The Shed @ Cooroy, a vintage and 2nd hand store with an emphasis on quality stock at reasonable prices. Turnover is high as one of Andy’s favourite phrases is ‘it’s very easy to turn a vintage shop into a museum if your prices are too high as no-one ever buys anything’.
Although neither Andy & Nova have any formal Antiques background, (Andy completed an engineering apprenticeship in the Royal Navy before serving on Submarines and Nova qualified as a chef and cooked for private hunting parties at an exclusive Scottish shooting lodge) both have a good ‘eye’ for what is in vogue, good quality and a pretty good idea what sells and what for locally in the current market.
Andy is looking forward to meeting you and helping you discover the lost treasures in your home.

Richard Hansen is well recognised around the Noosa Hinterland and can often be heard as the M.C or compère hosting numerous local events. He also travels regularly to host events around the country. With his dry witty humour and the ability to think on his feet, Richard has the unique skill of keeping the audience engaged, informed and entertained.
Richard moved to Cooroy in 2009 with his family and has been actively involved in the community since.
His background is that of being raised on a mixed farming property and spending his early adult years chasing rural endeavours where he got his first taste of livestock and clearing auctions. Auctions were (and still are) a integral part of rural life. Richard then went on to pursue a career in farriery during which he competed successfully in “farriers and blacksmithing” contests around the world.
It was during this time he became strongly interested in the skill of presentations and public speaking. Of course, competitions had to be included and he went on to become the District (encompassing Qld, Northern NSW and NT) humorous speaking champion.
Richard has personally spoken at numerous events around Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He now also helps people with their public speaking and communications skills through Impact Presentations with workshops and coaching services incorporating visual presentation design.
It seemed a natural progression with his rural background and the skills from behind the microphone that he would enter the arena as an auctioneer. He is passionate about auctioneering and facilitating the “buy and sell” via the excitement of the auction platform around the Noosa Hinterland and beyond.
